Studio Cake Smash Sessions

Let's get smashed! Cake Smash Sessions are a fun and playful way to celebrate your little one's first birthday. These sessions capture the joy, curiosity, and messiness of this special milestone as your baby digs into their very own cake. We start with simple portraits on solid color backdrop, then portraits on your setup of choice without the cake, and then move on to the smash itself, and finish with the optional splash photos in the mini claw foot tub for easy cleanup and extra fun. In the gallery below, you will see one image of every setup I've photographed up to this point.

If you are looking for something different, I can put together any theme you can think of (at no additional cost).

FAQ

When is the best time to schedule a cake smash session?

It's never to early to start planning your cake smash session! Depending on what kind of setup you want, it may take time to get everything prepared. I recommend doing these sessions between 10-11 months. This is to ensure you have your images ready for invitations and/or parties, and to try to catch your little one before they are completely mobile.

Can my partner or children join?

Absolutely! There is an additional small fee to add on family, sibling, or parent shots. The fee includes an additional 2 images.

How many outfits can i bring?

You can bring up to 3 outfits. One for the simple portraits (you can choose any color, so bring an outfit to match accordingly), another outfit for the portraits on your themed setup, and a third outfit for the smash itself.

When will we get our photos?

Depending on the time of year, my turnaround time is anywhere from 1 -14 days.

Do I get to choose my photos?

Of course! You will first receive a proofing gallery in which you will have the opportunity to choose your images, as well as purchase additional images. Prints are available for purchase after you receive your final edited gallery.
